Our Mission
Every idea starts with a problem. Ours was simple: DevOps and FinOps teams are drowning in repetitive tasks that drain time and money. We're building operational AI agents for the future of work, where teams spend time innovating, not firefighting.
The Problem We're Solving
DevOps agents exist, but they work in isolation. Teams need agents that collaborate with visibility, control, and shared context.
Agents Work in Isolation
Teams will not give credentials to cloud agents they do not control. Solo agents cannot collaborate across AWS, GitHub, databases, and monitoring tools. Each agent operates independently without shared context.
The Quarterly Tax
40+ hours lost every quarter like clockwork. 44 weeks building product, 8 weeks lost to board prep, $160K+ in annual engineering cost just preparing reports. Teams need agents that continuously surface insights, not manual spreadsheet work.
Our Values
What we believe about the future of DevOps automation
Teams Should Control Their Agents
We believe teams should own and audit the agents running in their infrastructure. That's why we build open-source agent templates you can fork, modify, and run locally. Your code, your rules, your security.
Flexibility Over Rigidity
Every team's workflow is different. We don't force you into our way of working. Agents adapt to your tools, your processes, and your unique requirements. Configure, extend, and customize freely.
Transparency Builds Trust
AI agents making production changes require complete visibility. We log every decision, every action, and every outcome. You see exactly what agents are doing and why. No black boxes, no surprises.
How We Started
It started at a hackathon in Austin. Two DevOps engineers stayed up all night building something they wished existed: an AI agent that could actually fix infrastructure problems instead of just alerting you about them.
The demo was rough, held together with duct tape and API calls, but it worked. The agent detected a cost spike in their AWS account, traced it to an underutilized RDS instance, and automatically resized it. No human intervention. No Slack alerts at 3am. Just fixed.
The judges immediately got it: "This is how teams will manage infrastructure in the future." CloudShip AI won the AI Agents track that weekend.
From hackathon project to production-ready platform
What started as a cost optimization script evolved into something bigger. Beta users began asking: "Can it handle deployments too? What about incident response?" The answer was yes. The same agent framework that automated FinOps could automate everything else engineers were tired of doing manually.
We spent the next six months rebuilding the entire system from scratch. We talked to 47 DevOps teams about their operational pain points. We studied how companies like Stripe and Netflix built their internal automation. We built agent templates for the most common workflows and made them open-source so teams could fork and modify them.
The first production deployment went live in April 2025. An e-commerce company used CloudShip to automate their peak season scaling. The agents handled 10x traffic without a single manual intervention. Their engineering team slept through the night for the first time in years.
What we believe
We believe that DevOps automation should leave you happy and confident, with your infrastructure running smoothly and money in your pocket. It should be easy to understand, easy to control, and actually solve problems instead of creating new ones.
Building autonomous agents for production infrastructure taught us three things: First, teams won't trust automation they can't see and control. Second, every company's workflow is different, rigid tools don't work. Third, the best automation is invisible until you need to look under the hood.
There's nothing complicated about it. Good automation, good outcomes.
Today
CloudShip agents are running in production at companies across fintech, e-commerce, and SaaS. They've saved teams over $2M in cloud costs and reduced MTTR by an average of 80%. But we're just getting started. The future of DevOps is autonomous, and we're building it one agent at a time.
